💛 About Me – Why I Started This Nonprofit
Animals have always held a special place in my heart. I grew up surrounded by them, and their presence has always been a source of comfort and purpose in my life. But the moment that truly changed everything—the moment that led me to start this nonprofit—came full circle through one dog. My dog.
When I was younger, I was in a difficult place in life and had to make the heartbreaking decision to give up my dog when he was about 2 years old. I believed I had found him a loving home, someone who would care for him the way he deserved. I carried peace with that decision for almost a decade—until I received an unexpected email from the microchip company I had used years before.
He had been found…as a stray.
After 9 years, my old dog was discovered abandoned, alone, and in heartbreaking condition. His microchip was still registered to me. The family I had trusted had failed him. I’ll never know exactly what he endured, but when he came back into my life, he was severely malnourished, covered in fleas, suffering from infections in both eyes and ears, with multiple masses, a heart murmur, and likely injuries from abuse or neglect.
Despite everything, he remembered me. From the moment we reunited, he became my shadow—my rock. He was 11 years old when he came home for the last time. I was blessed to spend his final six months by his side, giving him all the love, safety, and peace he had always deserved.
Losing him broke my heart—but it also lit a fire in me.
Every dog deserves to feel safe, loved, and protected.
No animal should be discarded, abandoned, or forgotten. This rescue is my promise to him—and to every animal still waiting for a second chance. I couldn't save him from everything, but I can honor him by saving others.
